GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

We are seeking a General Manager for our Ankeny, Iowa facility to help us continue to support our customers and grow our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire Value Stream, including Profit and Loss, for the assigned plant operations while supporting the Corporate Vision, Mission, and Strategic goals. This individual will supervise a direct staff and lead, coach, direct, and coordinate activities of all operational department(s) in manufacturing products by performing the following responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives manufacturing operating policy supported by lean concepts to realize business strategy.
  • Drives best practices and has accountability for all aspects of plant performance, ensuring objectives are attained cost-effectively and consistent with customer, quality, and safety requirements and following policies and procedures.
  • Support, co-coordinate, and initiate sales opportunities with the corporate sales team.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities -- Guides, coaches, and supports team members and teams to perform their roles successfully. It also includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems to support HR Vision and Mission.

**QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS**

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business or equivalent work experience (20+ years manufacturing leadership experience).
  • 10-15 years of experience in operations management, in highly engineered, plastic. injection molding industry, with P&L responsibility at a plant/division level.
  • Experience as a people leader with strong business acumen and analytical ability.
  • Problem solving aptitude.
  • Experience in being the lead change agent in complex transformational activities.
  • Must have a passion for and strong beliefs in constant improvement.

Salary info:

$70 - $85 / hr
